Please tell us your iPhone model, your iOS version, and what happened. Don’t attach private family photos, videos or recordings unless we ask for them.

Protect your memories

Deleting the app or losing your phone can lose your memories. TinyMoments keeps everything on your iPhone and has no cloud storage, so a backup outside the phone is the only way to get them back.

Back up

  1. In Settings → Storage & Backup, export a library backup.
  2. Save it outside your phone: on your computer, an external drive, or your own iCloud Drive.
  3. Keep multiple dated backups.
  • Recently Deleted is not included. Restore anything you want to keep first.
  • Include location keeps original media. Turning it off prepares privacy-safe media copies.

Restore

To restore, import a backup into TinyMoments. Check Recently Deleted before restoring a backup, and test importing a backup before you rely on it.

Share with family

One moment

Open the moment, then choose Share → Share Moment with notes.

Go to Timeline → Select → Share → Share Moments with notes.

Then

  1. Prepare the archive.
  2. AirDrop it, or save or share it through Files.
  3. The other person opens it in TinyMoments, previews the contents, matches children, and imports.

Copies are independent. Both phones keep their own copy, and nothing is synchronized. Edits or deletions made afterwards on one phone do not appear on the other. Moments that already exist in the receiving library are skipped rather than overwritten.

Photos and computer exports

Saving to Photos does not keep your diary. It copies photos and videos only, without diary notes or your child organization. For a complete, notes-preserving export, use a TinyMoments archive.

  • Voice recordings can be shared as files.
  • On a computer: rename the .tinymoments archive to .tar and extract it. Read Diary.txt and open the media files directly.
  • Keep the archive itself for restoring into TinyMoments.
  • Very large archives may exceed messaging attachment limits. Choose AirDrop, Files or external storage instead.

Digital frames

Use Share original media only and select a compatible installed frame app if it appears. TinyMoments does not pair directly with frames or transfer structured diary or child information to them. The receiving app determines which media it supports and its limits.

Permissions and recovery

If capture, dictation or Photos export isn’t working:

  1. Open iPhone Settings → TinyMoments and check that the permission you need is allowed: camera, microphone, location, Photos or speech recognition.
  2. Make sure your iPhone has free storage space.
  3. For dictation, note that it requires supported on-device speech recognition. If it isn’t available, you can type your note instead.

If an export fails, your originals remain in TinyMoments.

Don’t delete and reinstall the app as a troubleshooting step unless you have a verified backup outside your phone.
